Aegean United
I was born and raised in Izmir, also known historically as Smyrna, a vibrant Mediterranean city with over 3,000 years of history. Nestled along the Aegean coast, Izmir has been a cultural crossroads since ancient times, serving as a hub for trade, philosophy, and cuisine. The city’s rich culinary heritage is deeply intertwined with the Mediterranean diet, renowned for its health benefits and centered around olive oil. Growing up in this beautiful region, I was surrounded by the traditions of Aegean cuisine, where olive oil is not just an ingredient but a way of life.
My passion for olive oil started in childhood, inspired by the ancient olive groves that thrive in the fertile lands of the Aegean. For centuries, these trees have been cherished for producing some of the finest olive oil in the world—an essential part of the diet that has contributed to the longevity and well-being of Aegean people.
When I moved to America, I noticed that despite a growing interest in healthy eating, the oils commonly used in food were often low in quality. I realized that many health issues could be linked to these poor-quality oils, which lack the nutritional value and purity of traditional olive oil from my homeland. This inspired me to create Aegean United, with a clear mission: to bring the highest quality olive oil from the Aegean region to American households.
At Aegean United, we are committed to sourcing authentic, small-batch olive oil directly from local producers in the Aegean. Our products come from both the Turkish and Greek Aegean regions, renowned for their centuries-old olive-growing traditions and dedication to quality. We seek out the finest olive oils from this rich and diverse area, where artisans have perfected their craft over generations.
Our goal is not just to sell a product, but to share the centuries-old secrets of the Mediterranean diet that have helped people in the region live long, healthy lives. My journey began in Izmir, where the Mediterranean lifestyle shaped my love for olive oil and its role in our cuisine. Today, through Aegean United, I want to share that passion with the world, bringing the essence of the Aegean to your table, and promoting a healthier, more balanced way of life.
